Crossing the list off

admin July 7th, 2008

Determined to get some of the things crossed off of my list, I finally got around to hand-washing some of my clothes.

My long sleeved hoodie top (more like a jumper), 2 pairs of stockings, my shorts… and my red/black lace up g-string (which I wondered long and hard about whether I should or shouldn’t wash… in case dad sees it). Oh well, in it goes.

Not sure what some of the instructions actually meant, I dumped them one by one in the basin full of cold water and added an arbitrary amount of washing powder and started washing them.

I had trouble with one particular; that thick hoodie- I had rinsed it about 5 times with clean water yet soapy water still runs through. Getting a bit impatient, I commented it to dad.

“How many scoops did you use for those 5 articles?” he asked.
“A quarter of a scoop?” (I hadn’t the heart to tell him I actually used half a scoop…)
“That’s too much!”

Oops! I’ll keep that in mind…

Procrastinator’s procrastination

admin July 7th, 2008

I’d a few things I said I’d do in my holidays during the semester. So now that I’m on holidays, there are no more excuses.

Except, I always find myself putting them off. They aren’t big or anything, I’m just… I needed a rest (inner self: true that), doing other things (inner self: do them later!), or just lazy (mum: that’s no excuse!).

Here are a few things that was on my list couple days ago… I’m hoping that posting them on this blog will serve as a lovely subtle reminder. Cough.

  • Buy a few things:
    1. Personal girly things (i.e. fash wash… sanitary essentials…)
I actually did that yesterday with my mum… but that wasn’t because I was bothered… but I was starting to really need it. Blush.
    2. Rubber gloves.
So I can hand wash some clothes I’ve worn during the semester but never managed to wash. Which is why I’ve been putting this off as well.
But again, I bought these yesterday whilst shopping with mum, who kindly reminded me of it… Sigh.
    3. Medium envelope.
To send out the skirt I sold on eBay. But the buyer hasn’t paid yet, so I’ll leave that till later…
    4. Keyboard.
My keyboard is really really hard to press on, and since I developed RSI studying for my exams, Andrew and I switched so I can write notes on the computer… till I get myself a new one.
I put this one off initially because I didn’t want to spend money (I decided not to go back to work these holidays… well, not just yet anyway, I need some quality time for myself), but now I’m putting it off because Andrew told me to; he might be able to get a discount, says he =]
    5. Buying a gift.
Simply cos I don’t know what to get. Perhaps someone can recommend some gifts for a 2 year anniversary…
  • Organise a few outings as we’ve been neglecting one another because of uni:
    • My girls.
We haven’t seen each other for a really long time! And whom I miss awfully! I must take initiative…sometime soon…
    • Jess.
Whom I had actually called and “arranged” to go out “sometime”… but haven’t set an actual date yet. Oh and it must be on a weekend as she is occupied Monday to Friday.
    • Mary.
Before semester 1 started, we organised something but something got in the way, so we decided to go out in the holidays. And I was going to ask her, but she (being the more organised one) beat me to it. We’re going out this Thursday night at 6pm for dinner and shopping.
    • Uni friends.
Because we hardly get to see each other for various reasons (everyone is doing their own thing, we’re taking different subjects because we’re majoring in different things, we don’t gym together from lack of time… etc). And… me, being really really organised, haven’t organised any thus far again.
I actually just received a message 2 minutes ago from a uni friend asking if we wanted to see a movie and have lunch on the Wednesday.
    • Other high school friends.
I haven’t seen them since forever!!! I’ll get off my lazy ass soon enough though…
    • My boyf.
Our 2 year anniversary is on the 14th this month, which is next Monday… but he works on weekdays…
  • Check results.
It comes out on the 10th or 11th July! I can’t wait (don’t need a reminder but it was on my list)!
  • Hand wash clothes.
  • Decide whether  should go to a few places:
    • Opeth concert (before the tickets get sold out!): it’s during week 6 of the next semester… mid-semester break is between week 9 and 10…
    • 2 Weddings: I know they’re a must, especially since they’re direct relatives, but finishing 3rd year uni with a good average is also very important!

Hence concludes my list thus far.

I can smell another awesome semester coming my way after semester 1! *cries*

Some things I love at the moment are…

admin July 1st, 2008

A random post today. Here are some of the things I’ve been in love with recently or for a while now… some to the point where I think it’s starting to become unhealthy bug me:

  1. The L word’s Shane (Katherine Moennig)
I’ve been catching up on watching The L Word lately. Saw it on TV couple years ago, watched a bit but never really got around to it… And I fell in love with Shane; her on-screen personality, looks and style… hair, dress sense (her in the suit really does it for me).., oh so perfect! I love her!

  2. School girl skirts (or any mini skirt will do!)
Even before it became big, I’ve always had a massive fetish obsession with school girl skirts. Need I say more?

  3. Demonia shoes
Oh man, I’ve been dying to get a pair of boots (preferably knee-highs), but I went into shop after shop, and couldn’t find any that I liked. In desperation, I browsed online, and fell in love with Demonia. Only problem is that I’ve yet to find a retailer with a huge range, and not that expensive either. I don’t want to buy it online ‘cos of postage, and I’m not able to try them on… I can’t wait till I see these in real life!

  4. Leah Dizon
I have a huge thing for halfies - and so does half of the world (or more than that, like every other statistic, is made up on the spot)… And I think Leah Dizon is really cute! Who doesn’t mind a Chinese/Filipino/French model/actress/Japanese pop singer? (She’s even posing in school girl uniform too! See?)

  5. Guitar pick jewelry
I love my music heaps and heaps! And I love jewelry. So what better way to wear your favourite band than making guitar pick jewelry?! I’ve even been browsing a few picks to buy (unfortunately, some of my favourite bands don’t have picks! I still love them though)!
Only problem is that I can’t actually make them myself, but Andrew’s mum is going to bead of something that looks like picture 3:

  6. Gothic/punk clothing and accessories
All the lovely things that are or go with lolita/gothic/punk fashion! *hearts*

  7. Demotivators
Just when things get bad, I find these little beauties… Yeah, they help heaps don’t they?

  8. LOLCats
SO cute and funny! >.< For when demotivators don’t help.

  9. Pon and Zi
Who has a bigger love than Pon, anyone?

  10. Tattoos
Have always wanted a tatt… I really love the tatts by the Miami Ink guys! I wish I can go there just for a tatt, free-style. I especially love their shading, their use of colour (or lack thereof)… everything they do turns out perfect! Anyway, here are some designs (not necessarily from them) that I thought were cool.

  11. Kimono, yukata, waloli
There’s just something about these… I never knew I’d think traditional clothing as hot! So had to buy one I like… and I think they’re mad expensive too…

  12. Lace-ups, lacing, lace… Fishnets
    lace1lace2lace3
  13. Animals/pets
I didn’t use to like animals, not at all. After moving here, one of the neighbour’s cat kept playing wth us whenever we go for our walks… and we can’t help but feel affection for it.
I want a pet now but my dad’s right, “How can you take care of a pet when you can’t even take care of yourself?!” Sigh. Still love them though, how adorable are they!!!

  14. Random stuff
I love pictures - some really do tell a thousand words, so let these speak for itself

That’s all for now!
