Dinner At Etch, Circular Quay
DZ, LC and I went to a French restaurant called Etch (City) to celebrate LC’s birthday.

What a cute (but lactose-packed) dessert!

I ordered this bad boy, the 1 kg Man o war steak! Everyone was impressed…

Until I ate halfway and stopped… too full…!
And AG got a burger (my request).

Kiss goodbye to nakie-nails, and say hello to the new black!
Lovely colour, a bit delicate to put on but it isn’t streaky, lovely coverage with 2 coats. I can see why it’s the new “black”… it’s got that undertone to it.

A thread in the vogue forums has got me thinking about this winter.
I really do feel blah in winter.
Not only because I am too cold to function (especially with the recent death of my trusty heater!), and thus having to wear tons and tons that I cannot function properly, but it goes down with everything I do.
So apart from the layer after layer of clothing I pack on, the clothing article itself is insipid (just jeans+many tops+scarf… since no one’s gonna see anyway), giving me another reason to feel blah. And because I’m seemingly colder than the vast majority, 6 pieces of clothing results in me feeling extra chunky (probably also contributed by weight gain). Especially with the heavy backpack I carry to uni everyday!
On the topic of looking and feeling blah, winter = flaky skin. It gets dried from my burning hot showers (I know it’s bad), and being in the lab means I’m constantly washing hands! It gets super irritated when I accidentally spill fish sauce on the back of my hands. Yeeeouch! >_<
And my lips! It gets cracked down the middle, and a simple act of smiling hurts! So no smiling please or it’ll start to bleed!
I don’t know if it’s just me, but this winter has been really cold! And apparently, this isn’t so bad! I’d hate to imagine being in somewhere colder right now; I don’t think I’d survive.
Read moreRemoving my Dovima/Happy birthday/Ruby red slippers combo was actually quite difficult, sorta like removing Absolutely Alice. Whilst I read from others that it was easier to remove than other sparklys, I think they’re comparable.
Anyway, 15 minutes later, my nails were nakie!

Which led me to a thought: do nails need to “breathe” and “see the sun”… and if so, how much time is sufficient?
Well, I decided to leave it nakie for a while.
But not for long; I have plans for OPI Jade is the new black tomorrow! So excited!!
My Dovima’s doing really well! 5 days and counting, and no chips! Still looks good!
Since it’s doing so well, it’d be a waste to remove it… So this is what it looks like now:

So same Zoya Dovima base with added sparklys!
Colourful sequins is Lippmann’s “Happy birthday”: they are in different shapes, sizes and colours! So-called “party in a bottle”!
Red sequins is Lippmann’s “Ruby red slippers”. It looks fantastic on an opaque black background, great for a romantic dinner (not that I do them hehe)
Very flashy, I can’t get it right with the camera though
In need of freshly painted nails and in the mood for a fancy black, I decided to pick up my Zoya Dovima, a velvety matte black.
It applied like a dream, and looked wonderful! Absolutely loved the consistency of it, and wish I bought more Zoya polishes! Especially Moxie and posh! Heard from my friend that Posh lasted ages without chipping, and since Dovima is from the same line, I’m hoping it’d last ages too!
This is 3 coats, but I think 2 is sufficient.

Really happy with the way it turned out
Everyone loves this colour; a classic OPI colour.
My physio asked what polish I had on.
“I’m not really a waitress.” I replied.
“That’s an awesome name”
And an awesome colour too! This is 3 coats:

4th of July nail post without a “4th of July” theme.
Because I’m not American.
And I don’t quite do nail art. The closest is porbably these hearts. But yeah, I generally don’t do them.
Maybe one day.
But for today, I’m going to share my newfound love.
It is OPI’s catch me in your net, a summery butterfly flutterby themed foil teal colour.
One word to describe this colour: gorgeous!
It applies so well as well and is so flattering!
The only thing is, it was heaps hard to capture its colour on camera… I tried numerous times. Perhaps I’m doing it wrong?
Anyway. This is 3 coats.

I’m hooked!
