iPhone Apps

As we all know, credit card = trouble. Especially for me. Lately.

So all my iphone apps are the free ones, which are good enough in my opinion. I have so much fun with them as is. Some I discover and forget about, others I check religiously (to the point where it can be perceived as “unhealthy”)!

So some I use everyday are:

  • FML: F*** My Life. I have 2 which shows different ones… I think one is laggy in date than the other… but they both have frequent updates. I love reading FMLs for some reason… I guess it’s because my life seems bland, or that I find other’s encounters (actually misfortunes) interesting/unusual/unbelievable. I read, I gasp/shake-head/other, read the next one, close my app and forget about it. So harmless fun.
  • GMH: Gives Me Hope. I’ve been balancing misfortunes with beautiful encounters by reading this app; some of the stories on there are just so touching and wonderful! Every time I feel like I’ve lost hope in humanity, I read this to remind myself that there are good, and it’s happening through the biggest/smallest things! Lovely app! one complaint is that it can be a little laggy. But maybe that’s just my wifi connection.
  • TWI: Texting While Intoxicated. Humourous, nonsensical, disturbing, or just plain drunk texting – this app is so entertaining. Though lately, it’s quite R-rated…
  • TFLN: Texts From Last Night: Same kind of deal with TWI… But because I couldn’t get enough of TWIs one time, I decided to get this too! Different texts, same kind of entertainment.
  • Facebook: Of course right?

Some of the ones I use occasionally:

  • PWAU: For checking the weather. I never go out without checking nowadays. It is so handy and saved me some pain.
  • TripViewLite: With the amount of commuting I do, I should assume I know the train/bus timetable. But I don’t. So I got this to help me out hehe.
  • eBay: A very good app actually, and I check it every so often, more religiously when I’m selling stuff.
  • Domain: Not looking for a place or anything, but I get curious and I go on Domain to check out the range of prices properties are reaching around my area. <– some might say weird?
  • XE: For checking currency. For times when I want to buy from overseas… This thing helps calculate how much I will be spending… sigh.
  • Units: A multi-units converter… I usually use this to convert inches to cm (clothes measurements).

Some I think are too cool for school:

  • Shazam: Recently heard of this one, and discovered it for myself I don’t know whether or not this is the sole purpose of the app, but it detects music and names it for you. So far I’ve tried a pop song, upped a level to a pop Chinese song… and upped another level to a difficult Chinese song. And it worked! I was overjoyed! Pretty cool I thought! Now to test it on singing voice… to know what song my dad’s singing all the time…
  • Tap tap revenge: I played it heaps when I first got my iPhone, not so much anymore. A good game nonetheless! Finger DDR kind of thing, and it gives free tracks and stuff. Quite a cool app for a free one!
  • Unblock me: I reach ridiculous levels on this thing – in fact, I finished all the levels at one stage until they updated the app, leaving me with heaps more to do! But yeah, I used to spend a loooooooong long time on it until I forgot about it.

So that’s all for now! I’m the type who will go to itunes, browse free apps, and then download interesting looking ones (mostly whatever is in the top spot at that time), and never discover them. I’m hoping to play around with a few (only when I feel like it) to know which of them are worthy to keep. But for now, I’m lazy (-_-)… Also regarding the lack of credit card… I *am* thinking of buying pre-paid itunes gift card for those non-free apps though (I love tetris and would love to play scrabble!)… but again, when I am bothered…
