Essie Mesmerize

I sported Essie’s Mesmerize for dinner tonight; a medium opaque blue.

This is a very pretty blue, and although I don’t have OPI Dating a Royal, I somewhat envision it to look like this shade. It somehow reminds me of OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, maybe a little darker but brighter with less grey undertones… Out of curiosity, I might swatch them side by side just for a comparison (I have another pair to do as well!).

So yeah, I really like this colour; it’s bold, it’s fun, it’s vivid, and it stands right out! ♥ And plus, I love blue nail polishes (and can never have too many of them)! Moreover, the formula is nice as always; it is creamy and applies very smoothly.

This was 1 coat of Orly Bonder, 2 coats of Essie Mesmerize, and 1 coat of Essie Good To Go.

Essie Bahama Mama

So I finally uploaded the pics of my recently applied Bahama Mama by Essie.

Classy, warm, and dark but vibrant, I’m loving this deep plum/wine colour (I’ve been digging the purple shades a bit of late, especially in my clothing choice). Quite nice to apply, though I found that because I perhaps didn’t apply it evenly over the whole nail, I needed the 3 coats to make it completely opaque. Once the 3 coats are on, however, I’m loving it!

This was a coat of Orly Bonder, 3 coats of Essie Bahama Mama, and a coat of Essie Good To Go to finish off.

This colour sort of reminds me of OPI’s lourve me lourve me not… and looking at the pictures, it definitely looks alike. Perhaps in the next couple of days, I’ll swatch the two side-by-side for comparison.

It’s Essie To Guess What Arrived…

Especially when I mention it in the title!

Yes, Mr AG gave me my nail polish order tonight!

My very well packed/protected package.

New polishes to play with! YAY :)

I couldn’t wait to try them on, so I picked out two colours that were dissimilar to any other colours I own; Essie flawless and merino cool (although admittedly, after applying, I wasn’t so sure about this colour combo…)

Flawless is a cute, soft, pastel pink. At first, I thought it looked strange on my skin tone, but I grew to like this colour within… an hour? Haha. Just goes to show I like all colours on nails!

Merino cool is a grey-purple colour. I am quite fond of this colour, especially for the cold weather we’re having at the moment, and can’t wait to do a full mani with it! ^_^

I applied 2 coats each, and the formula was consistent and was really lovely to apply. So a very happy kittycat here :3

All except middle finger: Essie flawless
Middle finger: Essie merino cool

I also used the Orly bonder (base coat), and the Essie good to go (fast drying top coat), and I must say I’m a fan with everything I’ve used for this mani.

The Orly bonder really left a nice surface to apply my polish. I even made a mistake with one of my first coats, and just used a tissue to wipe it off, whilst the base coat stayed. I was impressed, though it didn’t work when I made a mistake with another finger (but that was one was on its 2nd coat).

The Essie top coat really delivered; it dried my polish super quickly and leaves a nice shine, and after 5 minutes, I could go back to what I was doing without Frankensteining my nails with all sorts of unpleasant marks.

So, super satisfied with this order so far!

I’m going to leave this on until I see a chip, and will hopefully swatch the other ones! Oh and I forgot, I will also get an opportunity to try my Sally Hansen kwik off! Yay, exciting!

Edited to add: I did a post on the Sally Hansen Kwik Off here.
