When Miss Jamie told me yesterday that she had received an email notifying her that Opeth is coming to Australia at the end of the year, I had to do a retake. Did she say… Opeth?

“Opeth is touring in December. I thought you might be interested” She started, “Tickets are on sale tomorrow.”

I jumped. Heck YES I was interested!!!

I just didn’t think Miss Jamie would’ve paid attention to it since it wasn’t her music taste, but since hearing me mention them a lot, I guess she remembered.

And… I usually check these thing regularly (or receive band newsletters)… But don’t know what happened this time; I had completely missed it.

So, thank you Miss Jamie for taking note of what I like and for letting me know it’s on!!!

Come today… and Mr AG was on the Ticketek site.

Bleak is a very typical Opeth song to like and talk about, but I do really adore the whole 9 minutes and 16 seconds of this song!

There is a great mix of heavy and soft metal in this song, with the perfect amount of Åkerfeldt’s screaming and beautiful melodic voice.  The transitioning from the different states are so cleverly done (as always) and I think that is ingenious!

One thing though: this is hardly the song for 2 AM right before I head to bed… Which reminds me, 2 AM is hardly the time I should be going to bed in the first place…

I had bookmarked the Omerch page to preorder their new album, Heritage. However, the pack I wanted (CD/DVD bundle edition) to purchase got sold out =( it was the best option for me there… I guess I just have to wait until it is available for preorder again…
