I’m so excited to read on the mX papers that the Peppers will supposedly do a tour in Australia in 2012! After some digging online (e.g. in this Triple M post), I found that Flea has confirmed it (and that I must have been living under a rock or something, because it was apparently confirmed 2 whole months ago)!

This is so exciting; I thought I would never see them play live! I’m still regretting that I didn’t go to their last concert (even though I’ve heard mixed experiences about it), but because of this piece of news, that thought has finally eased a little; there’s still a chance!

After getting the Peppers on my mind, I can’t help but post one of my favourite Peppers song, Under the bridge. A song about drug addiction, this song (along with a few others, such as Venice Queen and Tearjerker about Kurt Kobain) always reminds me of segments in Anthony Kiedis’ autobiography, Scar Tissue.

Anyway, the infamous classic and one of the favourites, Under the bridge. ♥

Bleak is a very typical Opeth song to like and talk about, but I do really adore the whole 9 minutes and 16 seconds of this song!

There is a great mix of heavy and soft metal in this song, with the perfect amount of Åkerfeldt’s screaming and beautiful melodic voice.  The transitioning from the different states are so cleverly done (as always) and I think that is ingenious!

One thing though: this is hardly the song for 2 AM right before I head to bed… Which reminds me, 2 AM is hardly the time I should be going to bed in the first place…
