Finally, My Wine Maxi…

I knew I wouldn’t be too busy at uni today, and since it was so lovely out, I thought today would be the perfect time to wear my Motel maxi skirt (I posted about it here)!

This isn’t something that I’d normally wear, but ever since I saw I online, I’d been so excited to wear it! And I’d received a few comments on it today, which makes me a smiley girl :)

I must admit though, it is a little troublesome to wear; I have to be aware of stairs or it might touch the steps… I have to be aware when I bend down to pick something up or it’ll reach the floor… I have to be careful of my surroundings in case the skirt gets caught on something… And actually, this afternoon, I wasn’t paying attention when I zipped my jacket up, part of the skirt got caught in the zip! Luckily, it came out unharmed… if not, sadface times would have ensued!

Saturday Uni Session, City Stroll, and Ferris Wheel Before Dinner

So I knew I had to be at uni for a while on a beautiful Saturday like this, but I thought I’d be able to leave relatively early (read: 4 PM) to go to an Alannah Hill boutique to check out the boots I’m lemming!

Nope, I didn’t get to go.

No matter, I was glad to have had a productive day at uni, and there’s always tomorrow for that (even though I’m most likely going to uni again!).

It was 7 PM when we reached to the City, and felt like I need an impromptu haircut (not quite, as I’ve been wanting one for a while now and just didn’t know which cut to get). The place I was going to go to (Takeshi and Team) apparently closes at 8 PM, so technically, there was plenty of time. When I got there, some staff were cleaning and closing up!

A little disappointed, Mr AG suggested that we take a walk in Darling Harbour to soak up the lovely evening (the weather was perfect!).

Off we went, strolling, catching a glimpse of the lovely Ferris wheel!

Next thing we know, we were on it :)

Wish I had a better camera to capture some nice night lights!

The ride wasn’t a smooth continuous one but one that stops every so often to allow people to get on the ride… so needless to say, it was interupted, and I didn’t feel like I was on for a ride but hanging in the air half the time!

Because we were taking many photos (like the obligatory blog photo of me above), the people in the carriage next to us started to mock us by posing in an exaggerated manner, trying to catch Mr AG’s attention. But Mr AG is Mr zen man (he seriously is), and he just ignored it.

The rest of our stroll was good; we watched Beat the Street’s street performance (which was delightful once again), and decided that we should have dinner. And it was sure an unsatisfying dinner… I’m going to continue it in this post, so I can end this post on a lighter note.

Anyway, this is what I wore today:

Jacket: Random store
Top: Glassons
Skirt: Dotti
Scarf: Rubi shoes
Headband: Gift from Miss Fera from Thailand
Socks: eBay
Shoes: K-swiss

Bomber, I Wore Too Little Today!

Another warm day today!

Unfortunately, not warm enough for the amount I was wearing (especially while waiting for the train for 14 minutes on my way home from uni)… Luckily, I was indoors most of the time, so the warm-to-cold ratio is okay.

So, just a normal uni day today.

Warmth With Wool & A Winter Skirt

0 Comments so far

I love how warm it has become this week, after a gloomy and rainy week the last!

All that sun has sent me into smiley mode!

Anyway, I decided to have a go at my tan skirt, a colour I didn’t think I’d wear a few years back, but now loving (though I do feel that the nude/brown/tan colours look strange on me, especially if they’re tops)! Plus, this is my effort to wear more than just blacks, red, whites, and purples.

Grey Cable Tights

One of the 5 pairs of leggings/tights I got from eBay; a pair of grey cable knit tights.

And because they came from overseas (Asia), I found them to be a bit short for me. In hindsight, should have bought the footless pair… Too late; I can do that next time.

But still, I somehow managed to stretch it out enough for my height (approximately 5’5″), and teamed it with a tartan skirt.

On Vegan Food, Durian Shakes, Shopping, Ramblings

0 Comments so far

Hung out with my parents today. We first made a stop at Cabramatta for some vegan food and durian shakes… Arrived there at 1:15 PM, and finally found a park that’s not so far from the places of interest at 1:30 PM; Cabramatta was quite packed as usual at this time, so I guess it’s normal.

We had lunch at an all vegan place called Loving hut. I heard that this place is quite liked by people (including dad), so I was interested. On the walls were quotes on why not to eat animals (which… I do), and had fan artworks (don’t know what to call them).

So the menu was interesting; all the food was called their usual names, such as bi cuon (shredded pork rice paper rolls) and goi cuon (salad roll with prawns, pork and other stuff). However, all the meat products in the original foods were replaced by vegan stuff (obviously, right?).

Bi cuon (shredded pork roll) + fish sauce

This was fantastic, and may even be better than the real shredded pork as I can taste a deep fried element in it that really made the flavours pop!

Goi cuon (pork and prawn salad roll) + hoisin sauce

The “prawn” in this looked amazingly real… unfortunately, the taste was lacking.

picture42

Bo bia (rice paper roll with egg, Chinese sausage, shrimps, jicama) + hoisin sauce

This was really good, and I couldn’t tell it was vegan at all.

picture52

Fried fish

This is just battered taro fillings, but the fish looked so cute I had to order it!

picture63

Bo luc lac (shaking beef)

Dad ordered this so confidently it humoured mum  (he doesn’t eat beef since he was young)! This was actually really good too, though I didn’t quite like the “beef”.

Overall, these dishes were very interesting and clever; it looks and tastes surprisingly like the real thing! I wouldn’t mind eating there for our vegetarian new years’ ritual thing!

So then we headed over to Giai Khat for some durian shake.

The lady we had last time wasn’t there, so we had to order from another. This one was a little less generous with the durian, and I could really taste it; the one last time was so lovely and thick that after an hour, it was still very lovely. This one felt like I’ve left it for an hour when I started drinking it. And the other lady who made my dad’s one was even stingy… A little disappointing.

Fruits and stuff!

Me being excited by my durian shake only to be a bit disappointed.

And so with our shakes and other foods, we left Cabramatta to give my brother his shake, and went to deliver some chili and salt prawns to grandma, whilst mum and I shopped.

Ended up buying a couple of things, firstly from Target, including some bras, Sally Hansen kwik off (I saw this on the vogue forums last night and wanted so much to try it out but don’t have polish on, so I will post about it later), and this panda shirt.

picture112

At the counter, I told mum I’d pay with card, and the saleslady asked if we wanted a bag for $0.1, so said yes, and mum asked (in Chinese) if she can just pay for that with her coin. I said I was paying with card and they’d add it up there, and the saleslady was amused. So I asked if she understood what we had said, to which she said, “I don’t, but I know that it’s something to do with the bag”… So I clarified what we meant. She must’ve been thinking that we weren’t willing to part with our $0.1 for the bag. Like, we bought over $60 of stuff, and you thought we were arguing over that?

Anyway. We didn’t have much time after that, so we headed into a few other shops, and only ended up buying some stuff from Typo. (This didn’t quench my shopping hunger, so I went home and bought 5 pairs of stockings/leggings/tights online!).

On the way, mum was telling me how all the Mobil petrol stations were being replaced with 7/11 ones, and the one she always go to will be replaced very soon.
